Aetna health insurance works with specific providers within their network.  To receive treatment from a provider out of Aetna's network, there are additional costs.  Your specific plan will dictate the type of health insurance coverage you have.  If you have health insurance through Aetna, you can be covered for multiple types of treatment.  This can include detox programs to help with drug withdrawal.  Detox will also ensure you are physically able to go through counseling.  There are also residential programs covered by different plans.  Inpatient drug treatment is the best option for severe addiction and long-term drug abuse problems.

Partial hospitalization treatment programs are also covered.  These services provide help with detox and are good options for addicts with medical conditions.  They are short-term but there is around the clock medical care.  Intensive outpatient services are covered within some plans.  These types of drug rehab programs are excellent options for addicts who are unwilling to commit to long-term treatment.  It is more intense than a traditional outpatient with the length of time and number of days attending treatment.  Clients of Aetna can also access continuing care programs, such as aftercare treatment and support.  To locate specific providers within their network it is best to contact Aetna directly.
