Why Is Vicodin Abused?

Vicodin is a commonly abused drug because of how it interacts with other drugs.  The effects caused by Vicodin are often intensified when mixed with other substances.  This is also dangerous and does lead to overdose or even death.  For example, Vicodin can interact with cold or allergy medicines, or drugs used for motion sickness.   Other narcotic medications such as opioids or prescription cough medicine.  Sedatives such as valium will create dangerous reactions despite what addicts are feeling.  It is a combination of prescription and over the counter drugs that interact with Vicodin creating negative effects.

Vicodin is a narcotic analgesic combination such as oxycodone and acetaminophen.  These drugs are only used to treat moderate to severe pain.  Yet the high produced is addictive and habit forming.  Many experts in the medical field believe these types of drugs have been overused, overprescribed, and abused.  This has resulted in countless substance abuse problems involving these drugs.  Vicodin is abused because of the effects it creates.  It is also an easy drug to come across whether it is prescribed legally or found illegally through online pharmacies.
