What Is the Line Between a Medical Detox and a Regular Drug & Alcohol Detox?

Although this question was addressed earlier, we will summarize the basic definitions here as well. In the case of a Medical Detox, you will find physicians working with the patient, often with the aid of medication, throughout their detox process. A "regular" Detox would refer to a Social Detox system in which the patient does not have a long history of drug use and is able to use outpatient services including counseling to make it through the detoxification process.
