The dangers of drug abuse are not a joke. Life is a very serious thing and the destruction of human life through drug use is something that everyone should take seriously. There is no logical reason to abuse Vicodin for example, the people who believe that prescription drugs are not nearly as dangerous as an unregulated street drug are not familiar with the science of the situation. It is silly to have a debate about which prescription medicine may be more dangerous when you are comparing the abuse of Vicodin versus the abuse of Percocet.
An addict with a permanent neck injury and that impacts their entire nervous system can be in need of the drugs and yet those same drugs can end up doing more harm if not properly administered. A person who is originally a burn victim can become a drug addict if they do not watch out and try to get things done in a drug treatment facility under the right kind of drug treatment program. A person should have a very trained eye and if their friends and family members are struggling with prescription medication after a serious injury then this is something that needs to be dealt with.
People of all economic backgrounds can struggle with drug addiction. There are a number of people out who seem to have all of the resources in the world and yet they do not have the ability to fix their life and permanently kick their addiction. A person who does not have a lot of discipline can break in certain situations where drugs are involved. You have to make sure that you are truly committed to the cause of being drug-free. The number of resources that you have, whether you are talking about financial resources or personal friends, those things can run out or leave you. A friend is not going to stay committed to your cause if it turns out that you have been abusive in the past.
