The state of Hawaii does not offer to fund addiction treatment, however, many of the drug treatment programs in the state accept private health insurance. Addicts who are seeking out treatment can also be eligible for financial assistance depending on the individual's needs. Throughout the state of Hawaii are programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous, the Hawaii State Department of Health Access Line, Narcotics Anonymous, and other forms of peer support groups. There is also the Hawaii Opportunity Probation with Enforcement Program, which reaches out to individuals who are not eligible for drug court. The HOPE program is an intensive recovery program and involves offenders who are likely to violate the conditions of their probation.

Many addicts choose to attend treatment out of state, as it may benefit his or sobriety to be away from home when going through drug rehab. Some addicts will choose treatment close to home, because of their support network. Whichever treatment approach is selected, it is important to attend a program that will help treat everything surrounding your addiction.
