Employee assistance programs are provided through the health care plans the employer purchases. This offers a wide variety of services for employees. Which can include meeting in person with counselors or therapists. There is often a toll-free number that can be called 24-7 where you can speak to qualified counselors. Everything is kept private and confidential and is not released back to the employer. Employee assistance programs do also often cover the family members of employees. This means that the immediate family of the employee can access the same employee assistance program.
