There may be limitations with the type of treatment you can access. This will be dependent upon the type of plan you have and the kind of coverage. Drug and alcohol detox programs are often one to ten days long. You may have a certain deductible you need to pay or some type of co-payment option. You may also be limited to the type of detox centers based on the kind of addiction you have. Inpatient drug treatment programs will also be different. These can be long-term or short-term programs, and UnitedHealth Group may only cover a certain type of program.

Programs that are often covered by insurance are partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient programs. A partial hospitalization program utilizes intensive methods to help a patient through his or her treatment. This type of treatment happens daily, and the addict will attend the hospital each day. Intensive outpatient drug rehab centers are also commonly covered by the insurance provider. These are not the typical outpatient programs but last longer and the hours each day are longer. A UnitedHealth Group plan may cover this type of treatment, you should be checking with your insurance provider.
